Roach Infestation Optimization MPPT Algorithm for Solar Photovoltaic System

Solar photovoltaic (PV) power has several advantages such as free availability, absence of rotating parts, can be easily integrated with building architecture, and need little maintenance. However, the PV cell current–voltage (I–V) characteristics are non-linear generated from a array depends on solar insolation/irradiation panel temperature. The extracted output is influenced by accuracy which nonlinear power–voltage (P–V) characteristic curve traced maximum point tracking (MPPT) controller. In this paper, bio-inspired roach infestation optimization (RIO) algorithm proposed to extract system (PVS). To validate usefulness RIO MPPT algorithm, MATLAB/Simulink simulations performed under varying environmental conditions, for example, step changes in irradiance, partial shading, presence uncertainties load variation conditions array. Furthermore, search performance examined different unconstrained benchmark functions, it realized that improved terms finding optimal solution faster convergence than Particle swarm (PSO). results demonstrated RIO-based performs remarkably high PSO, perturb observe (P&O), incremental conductance (IC)-based schemes.
